We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m., and then transfer you by tourist transport to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the Expedition or Voyager train that departs at approximately 6:10 a.m. On the journey from Ollantaytambo, you will enjoy stunning landscapes that include alpine meadows atop green and white glacial peaks, carved valleys, ancient Inca agricultural terraces, snow-capped mountains, and a subtropical jungle near the Amazon. The sacred Vilcanota River will guide us along the way to Aguas Calientes (the town of Machu Picchu). Upon arrival, your professional guide will greet you at the Aguas Calientes train station and take you to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu by shuttle bus. The guided tours will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, following the ancient paths that lead to the Lost City of the Incas, including cultural and historical descriptions of the main sectors of Machu Picchu. You will have free time at the end of the guided tour for exploration and photography on your own. Afterward, we will return to Aguas Calientes; you will have time for lunch (not included), and then you will board the return Expedition or Voyager train in the afternoon (around 2:55 to 3:20 p.m.) heading back to Ollantaytambo (train schedules may vary depending on the entry time to Machu Picchu).
