Details of the Trip
Day 1: Machu Picchu Tour by Vistadome Train
The big day has arrived — Machu Picchu awaits! Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you visit the majestic Machu Picchu Citadel. At 6:30 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and transferred by private van to the Poroy – Cusco Train Station, where you will board the train departing at approximately 7:35 a.m.
Please note that during the rainy season (January to April), the Vistadome Train does not operate from Poroy. In this case, pick-up will begin at 4:45 a.m. for the transfer to the Ollantaytambo Train Station, where you will board the 7:05 a.m. Vistadome Train. If you are staying in Ollantaytambo, pick-up will be at 6:45 a.m.
During the journey, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by towering glacial peaks. As you approach Aguas Calientes, the wide valley narrows into a river canyon, immersing you in the lush subtropical jungle at the edge of the Amazon. The sacred Vilcanota River will accompany you for much of the journey.
At 10:52 a.m., your guide will meet you at the train station and escort you to board the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. Following the ancient Inca paths, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours, covering the most important sectors of the citadel.
After the visit, you will return to Aguas Calientes to board the Vistadome Train at 4:43 p.m. or 6:20 p.m. back to Poroy, where our transportation will take you back to your hotel in Cusco. Arrival is expected between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., depending on your train schedule.
Please note that the train service includes only snacks and hot beverages; other meals are not included in the package. Additionally, depending on availability and how far in advance you book, your Vistadome return schedule may vary.
Our one-day tour includes Circuit 2A or Circuit 2B (subject to availability). Advance booking is highly recommended.
