Trip Details for the Inca Trail
Day 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Wiñay Wayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu
Very early in the morning, Enjoy Machupicchu Travel will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. and transfer you by private transportation to the Ollantaytambo train station. We will board the Expedition tourist train (06:10 a.m.) bound for Km 104, the starting point of this unforgettable hike.
After approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes of travel, we will begin the hike from Km 104 (2,100 m / 6,889 ft). The walk begins with a moderate ascent of about 3 hours to the impressive archaeological complex of Wiñay Wayna, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved sites on the Inca Trail.
During the journey, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Urubamba River canyon, ancient archaeological remains, and a unique natural environment. Afterwards, we will continue along the ancient Inca trail until reaching the mythical Sun Gate (Inti Punku), from where you will have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu, a moment full of emotion and mysticism.
After descending to the citadel, we will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
This day begins very early to make the most of the experience. We will board the first bus at 5:30 a.m. to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where you will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the citadel, a truly unforgettable spectacle.
Accompanied by an expert guide from Enjoy Machupicchu Travel, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, visiting the main sectors of the complex: ceremonial plazas, sacred temples, stone stairways, and natural viewpoints, while discovering the history, architecture, and symbolism of this wonder of the modern world.
After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore on your own, take photographs, and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.

Welcome Upon Your Arrival in Cusco
Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, a representative from Enjoy Machupicchu Travel will welcome you and comfortably transfer you to your hotel.
Please send us your full flight details at least 14 days in advance. Our representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals area with an Enjoy Machupicchu Travel identification sign.
(Note: due to airport regulations, you must exit the terminal to meet our staff).
Briefing Session
The briefing session takes place the evening before the hike at 6:00 p.m., at our office located at:
Av. Manco Ccapac #306 (second floor)
(Near Wanchaq Market or parallel to the Peru Rail station)
During this meeting, you will receive final recommendations and will be able to resolve all your questions before the trek begins.
Can I store my luggage?
Yes! During the 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, your main luggage can be stored free of charge at our office or at your hotel.
We recommend bringing only what is necessary for the hike.

To issue the official Inca Trail permits, we need the following information for each participant:

Passport copies are required to process the booking.
Step 2 – Deposit
A deposit of US$ 211.00 per person is required to secure the official Inca Trail permits.

What about the remaining balance?
The remaining balance can be paid in the following ways:
- In cash at our office in Cusco (US dollars or Peruvian soles).
- Online payment with VISA or PAYPAL, applying a 5.5% service charge (set by the platforms).
Can I change the date after purchasing the permits?
Unfortunately, it is not possible.
Once issued, Inca Trail permits are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be modified, according to Peruvian Government regulations.
In case of cancellation of the 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the deposit is non-refundable.
Do I need my original passport?
Yes, it is mandatory!
You must carry your original passport, the same one you used to make the reservation. It will be checked when entering the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, and when boarding the train.
If you are renewing your passport, please send us first a copy of the old passport to secure the permit, and the new one as soon as it is available.
What is the weather like?
The weather is unpredictable. We recommend bringing proper trekking footwear and dressing in layers, so you can adapt to changes in temperature, rain, or sun.
