1. What time does the tour start and where will I be picked up?Pick-up is from your hotel in Cusco in the morning, approximately between
7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The exact time is confirmed according to the season and daily logistics.
2. Which station does the train depart from: Poroy or Ollantaytambo?The departure station depends on the season and railway operations. The train may depart from
Poroy or Ollantaytambo. In both cases, Enjoy Machupicchu Travel includes
private round-trip transfers from your hotel in Cusco.
3. How long is the train journey?The Hiram Bingham train journey lasts approximately
3 hours and 50 minutes, though this may vary depending on train operations.
4. What meals are included?Included meals:
- Gourmet lunch on board (outbound)
- Gourmet dinner on board (return)
Welcome snacks are also offered during the experience.
6. Is a tour guide included? Is it private?Yes. The tour includes an
exclusive guide for Hiram Bingham passengers, who will accompany you during the guided visit to Machu Picchu.
7. Which Machu Picchu entrance ticket is included?The tour includes an entrance ticket to
Machu Picchu – Circuit 2 (classic route), which covers the main sectors, temples, and viewpoints.
Important: Circuit 2 is subject to availability. Advance booking is highly recommended.
8. What happens if Circuit 2 is not available?If Circuit 2 is sold out for your selected date, Enjoy Machupicchu Travel will inform you and advise on the
best available alternative, according to official availability and capacity.
9. How do we get from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu?The tour includes an
exclusive round-trip shuttle bus for Hiram Bingham passengers:
Aguas Calientes → Machu Picchu → Aguas Calientes.
10. Is afternoon tea at the Sanctuary Lodge included?Yes.
Afternoon tea at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is included—perfect for relaxing after the guided tour.
11. Can I stay an extra night in Aguas Calientes?Yes, it is possible, but accommodation is
not included. If you wish to stay an extra night, you may book a hotel/hostel in Aguas Calientes and inform us in advance so we can coordinate return logistics (subject to conditions and availability).
12. What should I bring on the day of the tour?We recommend bringing:
- Original passport or ID
- Comfortable clothing in layers (cool mornings / warm midday)
- Comfortable walking shoes, waterproof jacket or poncho (during rainy season)
- Sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, and small-denomination cash
13. Is large luggage allowed?It is best to carry a
small backpack or light luggage. If you have large suitcases (for example, due to travel connections), please contact us in advance so we can advise you according to train and transport conditions.
14. Does the tour include a hotel in Cusco?No. The tour does
not include hotel accommodation in Cusco or services not listed in the “Included” section.
15. How far in advance should I book?To secure seats on the train and availability for Circuit 2, we recommend booking
several months in advance (ideally
3 to 4 months, especially during high season).
16. What is the cancellation or change policy?Conditions depend on the services involved (train tickets, Machu Picchu entrance, and operations).
