We begin our journey at 6:30 a.m. at the Machu Picchu Booking Office, departing from Cusco to Hidroeléctrica on a 6-hour panoramic trip. During the route, we will make a stop to enjoy lunch in Hidroeléctrica. After that, we will head on foot toward Aguas Calientes, taking a 3-hour walk on mostly flat terrain.

How to apply for the student price?
The student price is available for students from all over the world who meet the requirements established by the Peruvian government. This discount only applies when purchasing Machu Picchu tickets through the Peruvian government.
To qualify for the student price, you must meet the following requirements:
- Your student ID must be an original identification card issued by your university, made of PVC material.
- The student ID must contain the following information:
- University information
- Student name
- Student photograph
- Valid expiration date (maximum 1 year of validity)
- The student ID must be valid. For example, if you visit Machu Picchu in 2026, the expiration date of your ID must be 2026 or 2027.
- The student discount is only applicable to students who are no older than 25 years of age.
- The ISIC card (International Student Identity Card) is not valid for this discount, even if it meets the requirements mentioned above.
- The only valid document for the student price is the original ID that meets the requirements established by the Peruvian government. Other documents, such as certificates or virtual cards, are not accepted.

Is it necessary to be in good physical condition to do the hike?
The 3-hour hike from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes is moderate. It is recommended to be in good physical condition, as you will walk 11 km on mostly flat terrain. However, it is not a technical or extremely difficult hike, and it is designed to be accessible to most travelers.
What type of accommodation is included in Aguas Calientes?
The tour includes a stay in a comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes, the base town of Machu Picchu. The hotel is suitable for resting before your visit to the archaeological site the next day. If you prefer a different hotel category, we can offer upgrade options at an additional cost.
